Alea presented a two-year player behavior analysis at NEXT Summit Valletta 2026. The dataset covers 1.5 million sweepstakes users, 1.8 billion game rounds and €2.3 billion in total wagers.
The sweepstakes vertical expanded its monthly gross gaming revenue from €1 million to over €13 million across seven quarters. The segment now matches the scale of Brazil’s regulated market and accounts for 11 percent of Alea’s operations. CEO Alexandre Tomic stated that the platform aggregates roughly 80 percent of sweepstakes content, providing a full view of player activity.
Provider Landscape and Content Consumption
Following Pragmatic Play’s departure, 3 Oaks Gaming and Hacksaw Gaming absorbed the available market share. 3 Oaks Gaming increased its position through promotional campaigns, while Booming Games captured approximately 10 percent of the segment within two months. The number of active game studios rose from 19 to 58 in one year.
New titles drive 47 percent of total revenue, with players testing recent releases more frequently than in traditional real money gaming.
Slot machines generate 90 percent of segment revenue, while live casino games account for the remaining 10 percent. Live casino players wager an average of €10.00 per bet compared to €1.10 for slots, producing a user revenue of €50.00 against €30.00. The live casino user base remains smaller, and Alea identifies a restricted supply of live game providers beyond Evolution.
Mobile devices deliver 86 percent of revenue, with smartphone users spending slightly more than desktop players.
The findings originate from a two-year data review conducted by Alea. The analysis period spans the full lifecycle of the current sweepstakes market expansion.
